Web design
We create websites for both new and established businesses. We’ll work with you to understand your goals and will deliver a custom site designed to help move your organisation forward.
Featured projects
We weren’t just on board to craft a modern website in isolation; we made sure we delivered rich functionality and multimedia (booking systems, personal finance portal, social streams, podcasts and automated workflows for enquiries) to help move the business forward in interconnecting areas.
Dokke
Dokke is an all-day asian fusion restaurant based in St Katharine Docks, London. With simple and clean navigation (the homepage’s hover-activated slideshow being a case in point), full-screen image displays, elegant typography and a focus on a strong user experience, we feel we did the restaurant’s food and philosophy justice.
Hoddesdon Boxing Academy
The Hoddesdon Boxing Academy approached Pixels & Puzzles in need of a website and full digital process setup. We aimed to build a modern and stylish site to provide information to both amateurs and professionals as well as improve overall member experience with online booking forms and an events timetable.
Via Properties
Via Properties (an award-winning estate agency based in Hertfordshire) wanted a new website that they could manage themselves, so were set up with a customised WordPress site with a drag-and-drop editor.
Additionally, work was undertaken to have a datafeed of properties from the client’s Property Management System, to avoid any duplicate work. Extra touches such as a digital window display and locrating tools rounded out the project.
Totus Wealth
As a firm of independent financial advisers, Totus required a clean, professional website template with a focus on helping visitors understand the proposition, as well as give existing clients easy access to all the resources available to them.
We weren’t just on board to craft a modern website in isolation; we made sure we delivered rich functionality and multimedia (booking systems, personal finance portal, social streams, podcasts and automated workflows for enquiries) to help move the business forward in interconnecting areas.
The Guild of Letting & Management
We started with a website redesign, focusing on clean and professional designs and iconography to provide clear information and opportunities to become a member. We also set up integrated payment processing and digital training course order forms to enhance the proposition further.
Intent Inventories
Intent Inventories required a brochure-style website to showcase its property inventory services to potential estate agents and private landlords. With a brief to deliver a sleek and modern website, we set about incorporating a consistent colour scheme with stylish full-width carousel imagery. The top action bar is designed to keep the contact options prominent.
3itee
The website is a one-pager, designed to cover all the key aspects of the business (cloud communications solutions as well as web infrastructure and architecture) and we and flow well on scrolling. A striking orange and black colour scheme to complement the logo and strong iconography contribute to a polished look for the company.
Brightsparks
This was achieved with eye-catching buttons and iconography to guide customers, with design tweaks coming in the form of a smart new logo and typeface.
M&B Lettings
A top estate agent in Plymouth approached Pixels & Puzzles to create a new, modern website that would be easy for staff to edit. Developed in WordPress, the resulting site is built around clean presentation and workflow optimisation, from a drag-and-drop page builder to a full property management system that automatically syncs with portals like RightMove.
Process
- Project blueprint
- Design & Build
- Sign-off
- Launch
Starting with either a face-to-face meeting or a phone call, we identify your goals, how digital platforms will support your organisation, your audience, what’s happening in your industry, your preferences and the technology that needs to be in place to complement your website (such as email marketing tools, payment gateways if you need e-commerce or social media integrations). Then, based on the requirements, we craft a customised project plan so you know exactly what to expect and when.
Once you’re happy with the project blueprint, we move on to design iterations (often supplying 2-3 styles to give you options from the outset). Once one has been selected, we begin building your website pages and creating/incorporating your content, from text and images to maps, social streams, videos and forms. We'll also implement all necessary integrations and will perform basic search engine optimisation (SEO) to ensure your site will rank will with Google and other providers.
Feedback is supplied regularly so that we're always moving in the right direction and we will provide you with a live document to comment on whenever you see fit. Prior to handing over the site for final review, we will complete thorough quality assurance using our extensive checklist. but once all build work has been completed, you'll be asked to sign off on the site in preparation for delivery.
Finally, we'll connect your domain to the website, submit it to Google for indexing and conduct post-live checks to ensure expected site performance. At this stage we will also supply any necessary training videos if you have chosen to update your site in future.
Frequently asked questions
We believe in setting you up with the content management/website-builder platform that will be best suited for your requirements. We specialise in WordPress and Squarespace, but have experience across other platforms and access to a network of specialists in those platforms.
This depends entirely on the scope of the project in question, but for basic websites with 1-5 pages, we try to look at a 1-2 week timeframe.
We don't limit by industry and have worked with clients in the financial, education, non-profit, restaurant, property, health and wellbeing, retail, design and technology sectors, so we've got wide-ranging experience and do our research thoroughly to make sure you are delivered something that stands apart in your field.
Yes! We offer ongoing site management for those who don't wish to run their site after it's live, but for those who do want to update content and create new pages, we offer either in-house or video-led training to ensure you get the maximum value out of your site.
This depends on the platform chosen, but as examples, for WordPress we charge around £10-15 a month (which covers hosting, website backups as well as technical updates) and for Squarespace the monthly cost is similar depending on the price plan (but we are able to get clients a 20% discount on their first year due to our membership of Squarespace's Circle developer community).
We can help you with ideas for imagery to create a strong visual presence. We also supplement this with compelling stock photography and iconography and can write engaging copy suitable for your industry.
